Baby picture showoff time! A few of my favorites from February
Picture heavy post ahead... you've been warned.
Showing off her new teeth
A closeup of those teeth- still not the best picture but they're hard to catch on film.
Busted! I leave her alone for 2 minutes and into the closet she creeps
Sneaking up on the kitten while she eats
First time on the baby swings
She really likes soft minkee fabric
It was so hard to narrow it down to these five. But I did it!

Reticulating Splines..... Realigning Blog Bits....
I'm doing some blog upgrading. I apologize ahead of time if things get wonky. My blog should be back, new and improved, soon... if it goes away in the first place.

An attempt at followthrough
I've been trying to figure out a job I can do from home. I have always drawn but I am constantly thinking I need to do better in order to sell anything. But at the same time, I get piles of art sitting around, and I am often told I do well. So I'm going to be trying to sell on Etsy. That way, old stuff gets cleared out to make way for the new.
I'm at a loss for how to promote things though.
Also, I want to actually follow through!
I think Etsy will make it easier because I can do it mostly from home, so I have no excuse for not doing it. I applied for a few photography jobs where you went to people's houses but they were looking for fancy resumes more than a good body of work.
I'm so bad at sticking with one thing. I love to take pictures, to draw, to paint, to sew, to make random things that come to mind, to go to a studio and fabricate metal jewelry. I think the key is the creating for a purpose. Making stuff just to have it sit around my house is not at all inspiring.
Oh, and here's a picture of a drawing I was working on.... it still needs some color.
Wish me luck. Oh and check out my Etsy store if you want.
Right now it's only got a few baby things I sewed and some vintage stuff I had sitting around. But soon.... soon I say.... there will be art!

Now where'd I put my Prismacolors....

More Camera Fun
I was experimenting with super slow shutter speed yesterday. I LOVE my digital for this. It was so much harder to play with when I had to wait for at least a day to see how it was going to turn out. The digital means being able to fine-tune it every shot.
Here are two from my first set.
These were taken with the aperture at 32, an ISO of 400 and a shutter speed of 8 seconds.
The baby is funny to get these pictures of because she is ALWAYS in motion if she is awake. Her head looks like a big blur in every slow shutter speed picture I took of her.

Many happy returns
I am happy to announce that Austin feels like home now..... and while I enjoyed my boyfriends family reunion I was so excited to make it back to my house. My own bed, Lorelei having a crib to sleep in, cats to cuddle. I think the baby is happy to have floor time again. She barely ever went five minutes without someone picking her up there.
I came down with some kind of mild version of the flu when we first got there- had a fever, chills, body aches, the works. Luckily I got over it quickly and it seems that no one else caught it. There's tons of family pictures for me to go through, and Lorelei got a pretty black walnut box handmade by her great grandfather, and a quilt where the squares were made by her great great grandmother, and assembled by her great grandmother. There's a lot of greats in there!
Now, I just need to catch up on the internets and relax and recharge a bit.

away
We're going to be gone for 5 days... so even less updates than usual.
Lorelei cut a second tooth a few days ago and you can actually see them in her gums now.
She has perfected the army crawl and terrorizes the cats
I have stuff to plant that I really need to have in the ground already
My broccoli plant actually has broccoli happening.
Also, I have been drawing again, which is exciting.
More updates when I get back in town
Goodnight all

Hell OR how the baby got her teeth
She's cut her bottom two teeth. Still can't see 'em well, only feel them. She's sacting sooooo sad. I thought that would come before them breaking the gum, not after. Maybe theres another close behind.
I'm really hoping she calms down by Wednesday because we'll be spending five days in Pennsylvania.... and have the plane plus long car rides our our future.

selling stuff OR how to not have so much junk in my house!
I'm trying to clear out some of the stuff I've amassed that I can't make myself get rid of because it's actually worth something (I swear I must be part magpie)
After having some things I made up on Etsy since November, I added some little miniatures I have just sitting in a drawer, and they were only there a week before one sold! Exciting!
