Cindy!
That's me!
Well really, my name is Lucinda, but I have always been called Cindy, except for one year of college when I decided it was time to go by my "grown up" name. That didn't really stick.
Some things about me---
I've been into photography since I was a kid, but didn't get a dSLR until I had my first girl--- before that it was all film for my "good" photos, and a little Cannon Powershot for the "snapshots."
My hobbies change so much--- I have a whole room full of supplies for my different hobbies. Some of them are jewelry fabrication, fabric dying, sewing, painting, drafting, hoop dancing, belly dance, costuming and computer gaming. Photography is the only thing I consistently stick with.
I have cats. I'd like a dog but cats are very lot maintenance compared to dogs-- they can easily be left overnight as long as a big bowl of food is put out.
I have two beautiful little girls, Lorelei and Ivy. Lorelei is 2-1/2 and Ivy just turned 1.
In another life, I fully planned on being a hard working interior designer. Then I got pregnant with Lorelei and changed directions. I want to be here for the girls as much as I can and don't want the 60 hour weeks that come with breaking into the ID profession. Luckily my husband is able to support us on his salary so I can be home with them.
I have an insatiable appetite for new and unusual things. Right now I am exploring hoop dance and circus arts. I've been eyeing aerial silks classes as my possible next thing to try, along with continuing my exploration of movement in the hoop.
Almost every photo of me in the last 3 years has one or both of my girls in it.
Anyone have any questions? I'm not sure what else to share...
I too have dabbled in those crafts I used to take photos also - Cats rule!!
ReplyDeleteCute c words for today! :) Your daughters have such beautiful eyes. The one's almost look cerulean...another c word for your list! :)
ReplyDeleteCats are my favorite as well. I take lots of pictures of my two girls but that's as far as I go. Nice to meet you.
ReplyDeleteMy mom's name is Lucinda, but she also goes by Cindy.
ReplyDeleteI love the first picture of this post. I remember walking every day with my daughter in the snugglie. What wonderful memories! She's 3 now.
Found you on the A-Z list :) Good to meet you!

Great pictures!!! I work in Austin and live just south of town. I love the pictures of you at the bridge.
ReplyDeleteYou definitely seem like a girls of many interests. At one time, I thought of trying to learn to belly dance but alas....that never happened.
Alberta-- I usually think cats rule, but we're having some behavior issues around here so I'm not convinced today.. hah!
ReplyDelete"Exceptional Parent"-- Aren't their eyes beautiful? They both have the same bright bright blue eyes. Makes me wonder if they are going to change when they get older.
Summer-- it's good to have lots of kid pictures! Kids change so constantly
Brianna-- that's neat, another Lucinda
Donna-- Belly dance didn't go too far with me... my hips don't like it much for some reason, but even odder, hula hooping makes my hips feel better.
I like the abundance of your hobbies! The circus arts sound fascinating--color, sparkle!
ReplyDeleteawwww - I love the pics! My babies are so old now - 12 and 6. They grow up too fast - relish every minute!
ReplyDeleteI get into hobbies for awhile too, then something else catches my eye and it takes me awhile to come back to the originals. I've loved photography for years but haven't been active with it lately. Same with my knitting, sitting there lonely in the corner, and my yoga mat all rolled up... Your circus interest sounds FASCINATING! I'd love to hear more about that.

Your daughter is absolutely beautiful. :) :)
ReplyDeleteAnd we think the same when it comes to cats. I'd like a dog as well, but cats are just as adorable, and need much less maintenance. :)
Good for you for being able to stay home with your girls. They are only small once.
ReplyDeleteNice bumping into you, Cindy. Your photos are great. All great C words. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures and great fun with your child..What great memory shots for her album of her upbringing! Thanks for sharing...Sorry to be late, but trying to play catch up with the blogs...Now on to "D"...

Margaret A-- the circus stuff is pretty interesting for sure! It's encouraging me to get more flexible and in shape. No easy feat after 2 babies in a short time span
ReplyDeleteAlison M-- I know, right! It makes it a bit bittersweet.
Allison-- maybe I'll use V to explain Volve, which is the group I have been playing with.
PencilGirl-- thank you :) And yes, I'm all for low maintenance as possible, tricky though with so many things going on at once.
B's mom-- My mom stayed home with me and I have so many good memories from it, I wanted to give the same gift to my girls. Though sometimes I'm unsure I'm giving them a gift when I am getting frustrated with them.
M. Pax-- Hi! and thank you :)
Margaret H-- I'm now thoroughly behind myself, but trying my best to be social, keep up with my letters and also continue my usual house work. Hah!
Deidra-- Thank you!
